The 7th of Sha'ban (Barat) is the night on which the deeds of the past human beings are presented to Allah.

 Imam Hassan Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) would be trembling this night, and he would be confused and would say, “This is the night of Barat. On this night food, health, illness, fitness and all things are determined for the next year.

Hazrat Ali (RA) would come out that night and weeping, looking up at the sky and saying: O Allah, today you will be presented with deeds, what will be the news of Ali's deeds with Allah? The Companions came and asked the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace O Messenger of Allah, when the night of Sha'ban falls, you spend it in worship and waking up and you fast on the day of Sha'ban. What is it for?

The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: I fast on the 5th day of the month of Sha'ban so that the deeds of the people may be white on that day and I pray at night and I wake up because I like that when my deeds are presented to Allah at the end of the year, He will also spend it in worship and my last deed in deeds will be worship. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Tonight when we worship the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and when he prostrates his head he would stretch it so much that I would say: Allah, do not do it. His soul has been seized. I saw that Mubarak's leg was shaking and I realized that he was alive and then I put my ear close to him who is crying in prostration and praying (or Allah ﷻ I seek refuge from your torment). I seek refuge in God from your wrath and torment, I seek refuge in you from God and I move towards you, God is worthy of your worship.
